Defence Minister Advocates for Enhanced Security Collaboration

On Friday, during a high-level engagement with security intelligence stakeholders in Abuja, the Nigerian Defence Minister, Gen. Christoph Musa (retd), called for enhanced collaboration among security intelligence agencies to effectively tackle Nigeria's evolving security challenges. He highlighted the necessity of a unified operational intelligence framework to improve responses to asymmetric threats, which require joint efforts and faster information sharing.

Musa praised the dedication of security personnel across the country, acknowledging their significant sacrifices in protecting lives and property despite operating under difficult conditions. He noted that fragmented operations among agencies often limit the impact of ongoing efforts, as they tend to operate in silos.

Musa reaffirmed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's directive to strengthen inter-agency collaboration and emphasized the importance of combining human intelligence with modern technological tools to enhance operational efficiency and enable rapid responses to security threats.
