Cally Air Expands Fleet with New Aircraft in 2026

Cally Air, the state-owned airline of Cross River, is expanding its fleet with the addition of a CRJ aircraft, registered 5N-CRF, expected in September 2026. This expansion is part of a phased fleet program that will continue into early 2027, as announced by Cross River State Commissioner for Aviation, Capt. Inah Eno Utum (retd.).

The new aircraft will increase capacity, improve flight frequencies, and provide greater scheduling flexibility, supporting existing domestic routes and potentially expanding into West African markets. ValueJet manages Cally Air's flight operations and will oversee the induction of the new aircraft, ensuring operational efficiency and compliance with aviation safety standards.

The expansion reflects a growing investment in state-backed aviation across Nigeria, following the introduction of other state airlines like Ibom Air and Gateway Air. The economic benefits of this expansion will depend on passenger demand and the airline's ability to maintain reliable services.
