River State Governor Fubara Resolves Rift with Wike, Appoints Five New Permanent Secretaries

Following the resolution of a political rift between Governor Fubara of River State and his predecessor Wike, five new permanent secretaries have been appointed in the state civil service. The appointments of Dr.

Wachukwu Worgu Ekowuma Ogbonna Anthony, Dr. Jim Jaja Gogo Uzor Henri, and others were announced by the Head of Service, Dr.

Iningi Brown. The formal inauguration of the new appointees is scheduled for Wednesday.

The reconciliation between Fubara and Wike was facilitated by a meeting involving President Tinubu, Governor Fubara, Minister Wike, the Speaker of the River State Assembly, and other key stakeholders. The meeting aimed to resolve power struggles that had paralyzed the state government and threatened Fubara's tenure.

President Tinubu reportedly laid out conditions for Fubara to ensure his political survival and avoid impeachment, including the full implementation of a peace accord brokered earlier.
