APC Extends Nomination Form Deadlines for 2027 Elections

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced an extension of the deadlines for the sale and submission of nomination forms for the 2027 general elections. According to Felix Morka, the party's National Publicity Secretary, the new deadline for the sale of forms is now set for midnight on May 6, 2026, while the submission deadline has been extended to midnight on May 7, 2026.

Screening of aspirants is scheduled to take place on May 8 and May 12, 2026, with public screening of aspirants on May 13, 2026. The announcement comes amid challenges regarding consensus arrangements within the party, particularly in Nasarawa State, where Governor Abdullahi Sule has obtained a senatorial form despite opposition from some aspirants.

Additionally, there are ongoing disputes regarding the consensus candidacy in various states, including Yobe and Benu, where party members are pushing back against imposed candidates. The situation reflects the complexities and tensions within the APC as it prepares for the upcoming elections.
