Bandits Kill Five Forest Guards in Kwara Attack

In a tragic incident on April 10, 2026, bandits attacked Nuku Village in the Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State, resulting in the deaths of five forest guards. The attack occurred around 3:00 AM, with assailants reportedly storming the community and opening fire, leading to panic among residents.

Sources indicated that the attackers entered the village without resistance and targeted the newly recruited forest guards. In addition to the loss of lives, properties were destroyed, including motorcycles belonging to the forest guards and patrol vehicles, which were set ablaze.

The Kwara State Police Command has yet to issue an official statement regarding the attack. Adetoun Ejir Adeyemi, the police spokesperson, promised to provide updates as information becomes available.

This incident heightens fears among residents, especially following a previous deadly assault in the nearby Woro community, where approximately 200 people were reportedly killed and 176 others abducted, including women and children.
