DSS DG Orders Release of Wrongfully Detained Suspects, Provides Compensation

The Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Oluwatosin Adeola Ajayi, has ordered the immediate release of three men wrongfully detained since June 2025 for alleged links to banditry and kidnapping. The men, Umar Ibrahim, Alhaji Bello, and Rabiu Jaja Sarki Bamo, were found to have no evidence connecting them to the crimes.

The DSS review panel confirmed the mistake and the men were compensated with N3 million each. This move reflects the DSS's commitment to correcting past errors and ensuring justice is served promptly.

The freed suspects expressed gratitude for the dignified treatment during their detention.
