Raphael Onyedika Joins Eintracht Frankfurt on Five-Year Deal

Midfielder Raphael Onyedika has officially completed his transfer to Eintracht Frankfurt from Club Brugge, marking him as the sixth Nigerian to represent the German club, following in the footsteps of Austin Okocha. Onyedika signed a five-year contract that extends until June 2031 and will don the No. 25 jersey.

Prior to this move, he had a successful stint at Club Brugge, where he won two league titles, the Belgian Cup, and the Belgian Super Cup. Additionally, he lifted the Danish Cup with FC Midtjylland during his earlier career.

With 268 senior club appearances, including 24 UEFA Champions League matches over the last three seasons, Onyedika brings considerable experience to Frankfurt. He has also earned 26 senior caps for Nigeria and participated in the Super Eagles squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

Frankfurt's board member for sport, Markus Krösche, praised Onyedika's physicality, strategic understanding, and consistency, highlighting his potential as a key player for the squad's future. Onyedika is expected to make his unofficial debut against Hull City in a pre-season friendly before his competitive debut in the DFB-Pokal on August 21.
