Gombe State Ranks Among Nigeria's Best in Governance

Gombe State has achieved national recognition for its governance and public service delivery, as evidenced by the 2026 PCL State Performance Index (pSPI), which ranks it among Nigeria's best-performing subnational governments. The assessment placed Gombe 6th nationally on the Momentum Index and 4th in citizen satisfaction, with a score of 3.47 out of 5.

The report highlighted Gombe as Nigeria's best-performing state in road infrastructure and noted its strong performance in healthcare delivery, security, and environmental cleanliness. The state's success is attributed to a business-friendly environment, prudent fiscal management, and sustained investments in critical infrastructure.

Gombe received high ratings for road infrastructure (4.50/5), environmental cleanliness (4.10/5), and security (4.00/5). The state maintains a 69 percent capital expenditure ratio, reflecting its commitment to development-oriented spending.

This ranking reinforces Gombe's reputation as a model of purposeful leadership and sustainable development under Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya.
