Jigawa State Ranked Second in 2026 Performance Index

Jigawa State has been ranked as Nigeria’s second most improved state in the Phillips Consulting (PCL) 2026 State Performance Index, according to a statement released by the chief press secretary to the governor, Mohammed Hamisu Gumel, on a Sunday evening. The 2026 National Assessment Report indicates that this ranking underscores the state’s reputation for prudent governance, fiscal discipline, and effective public service delivery.

Additionally, Jigawa State was recognized as the highest performing state in the North-west geopolitical zone on the 2026 Momentum Index. The state achieved a score of 3.69 out of 5, placing it second in the country for overall citizen satisfaction, which reflects strong public confidence in the administration's performance.

The independent assessment evaluated all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) across 37 governance and development indicators.
