Jigawa Governor Suspends Advisers and Councillors Indefinitely

Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi has ordered the indefinite suspension of three special advisers and two supervisory councillors from the Auyo Local Government Council, effective immediately. This decision follows a period of political tension in the state, particularly after the recently concluded APC primary elections, where several incumbent lawmakers lost their return tickets.

The suspensions were approved by the Jigawa State Ministry of Local Government and Community Development, as stated by Ibrahim Hannun Giwa. The affected officials include Bala Energi, Abdullahi Usman, and Ussaini Biyuta Kataudi.

The statement released by Najib Umar, the Public Relations Officer of the ministry, emphasized the need for compliance with directives regarding the management of government properties. No official reasons were given for the suspensions, but the timing suggests a connection to ongoing political realignments within the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The state government will monitor developments in the Auyo Council.
