APC Suspends Jigawa Rep Ibrahim Kamfani Over Misconduct

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has suspended Ibrahim Kamfani, a member representing Hadejia in the National Assembly, along with six other party officials due to alleged anti-party activities. The suspension, which took effect on May 31, 2026, was announced by Bashir Kundu, the APC's Public Secretary in Jigawa State.

This decision follows the emergence of a controversial viral video that depicted Kamfani receiving significant crowd support, where chants against the APC leadership were reportedly heard. The party's leadership expressed that Kamfani's actions could potentially cause divisions within the party and betray its cause, leading to internal conflict among members.

The list of suspended officials includes Aisha Adamu, the state deputy women leader, and several other local party leaders. Ahmad Garba, the state APC chairman, emphasized that the action aims to enforce party discipline and preserve unity within the APC in Jigawa State.
