Again, Saudi Authorities Detain Kano Woman Over Alleged Illegal Drug Possession

A Nigerian woman, Mrs. Abdullahi, was detained in Makkah by Saudi authorities over alleged illegal drug possession.

She had traveled with her husband, Abdullahi Baffa, for lesser Hajj, and upon arrival, a strange bag was found in her luggage without her consent. Despite the bag being cleared at the departure airport in Nigeria, it caused her detention in Saudi Arabia.

Her husband, Baffa, expressed shock and frustration at the situation, urging the Nigerian government and airport authorities to intervene. This incident comes after a similar case in December 2018, where a Nigerian student, Zainab Aliyu Kila, was detained in Saudi Arabia on drug trafficking charges, which were later proven to be false.

Nigerian authorities are now working to secure Mrs. Abdullahi's release.
