Nollywood Actor Benedict Johnson Hospitalized for Surgery

Veteran Nollywood actor Benedict Johnson is currently hospitalized and is scheduled to undergo surgery due to an undisclosed health condition. Abubakar Yakubu, the president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), confirmed this development on Saturday while speaking to journalists.

A viral video showing Johnson undergoing an MRI scan has raised concerns about his health. Yakubu stated that the guild is fully involved in supporting Johnson throughout his treatment and ensuring the success of the surgery.

Although specific details regarding Johnson's illness have not been disclosed, Yakubu emphasized the guild's commitment to providing support during this challenging time. Johnson, a graduate of Abia State University, began his acting career in the early Nollywood era with roles in productions such as "Live Bondage" and "Stolen Bible," contributing significantly to the Nigerian film industry since the late 1980s.
