AGN Reacts to Arrest of Nollywood Actor Over Alleged Coup Plot Against Tinubu

The Actor Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has reacted to reports linking its member, Stanlei Amandi, to an alleged coup plot to overthrow President Bola Tinubu's administration. Amandi, a Nollywood filmmaker and former chairman of the Enugu State chapter of AGN, was accused of playing a role in the failed coup attempt.

Emeka Rolla, a former AGN national president, confirmed the guild's awareness of the developments and stated that an official statement would be issued soon. The report alleges that Amandi recruited military officers to be involved in the plot and serve as propagandists to influence public perception ahead of the planned takeover.

The coup plot was reportedly intended to violently overthrow top government officials. Military authorities have arrested several individuals, including Amandi, and they will face trial in both military and civil courts.
