Nollywood Filmmaker Stanley Amandi Arrested Over Alleged Coup Plot Against Tinubu Government

Stanley Amandi, a Nollywood filmmaker and former chairman of the Enugu State chapter of the Actor Guild of Nigeria (AGN), was arrested over an alleged coup plot against the government of President Bola Tinubu. The plot reportedly involved several military officials and civilians, with Amandi being a key figure in the plan to overthrow the administration through violent means.

The investigation revealed alleged plans to assassinate top government officials, including President Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswil Akpabio, and others. Amandi, along with 16 indicted officials, will face a military judici panel and potentially a court martial.

The probe has widened to include more arrests of military personnel and civilians implicated in the coup plot. Amandi, known for his work in Nollywood as an actor, product manager, and director, is set to be prosecuted in civil court.
