Agora Policy Graduates Second Fellowship Cohort in Abuja

Agora Policy graduated its second fellowship cohort on Thursday in Abuja, aimed at enhancing evidence-based policymaking in Nigeria. The initiative, founded by Waziri Adio, launched two digital platforms designed to improve transparency and accountability in local governance.

The fellowship, part of a series of activities to support policy development, received 250 applications for its second cohort, selecting 25 participants from the first cohort of 20. The rigorous four-month program included workshops and case studies, culminating in individual policy papers on various topics, including artificial intelligence and air quality.

Hadiza Bala Usman, Special Adviser to the President on Policy Coordination, emphasized the importance of cultivating a disciplined approach to evidence-based policymaking to address Nigeria's current challenges. The newly unveiled portals are intended to deepen relationships and inform participatory governance, reflecting the need for significant reforms across Nigeria's economic and public finance sectors.
