Agro Preciso Trains Kogi Farmers on Sasso Poultry Breed

Agro Preciso organized a training program in Lokoja, Kogi State, aimed at improving livestock farming practices among local farmers. The event, attended by 67 farmers from 21 local government areas, was led by Dr.

Nurudeen Lawal, Managing Director of Agro Preciso. The training follows a memorandum of understanding with Hendrix Genetics, the global leader in animal genetics, to promote the Sasso breed of poultry in Nigeria.

This initiative is part of a strategic effort to enhance food security and farmer incomes by introducing resilient poultry varieties that thrive in local environments. Dr.

Olufemi Bolarinwa, Kogi State Commissioner for Livestock Development, emphasized the significance of improving poultry breeds to boost food security and farmer livelihoods. The program aims to equip stakeholders with modern knowledge and skills in poultry management, including breeding, feeding, disease control, and general husbandry practices, fostering collaboration among government agencies, farmers, and private sector players.
