Felix Agu Returns from Injury in Bremen's Pre-Season Win

Felix Agu made his long-awaited return from injury as he played for Werder Bremen in a pre-season friendly against VfL Bochum, which ended in a 2-0 victory for Bremen at the Parkstadion in Zell am Ziller on Saturday. Agu, a Nigeria international, was included in the starting line-up after recovering from muscular problems that had sidelined him during the club’s pre-season preparations.

He had trained individually before being declared fit for the match. Agu was active on the left flank and received a yellow card shortly after the second half began due to an altercation involving Alessandro Crimaldi and former teammate Manuel Mbom.

He completed the match without further injury concerns and was substituted in the 48th minute as head coach Daniel Thioune made a double change to manage his workload. The victory was sealed in the 70th minute when Salim Musah converted a penalty, capping a successful training camp for Werder Bremen as they prepare for the 2026/27 Bundesliga campaign.
