Boniface Shines in Leverkusen's 3-1 Win Over Offenbach

Victor Boniface continued his impressive pre-season resurgence for Bayer Leverkusen with a notable performance in a 3-1 friendly victory over Kickers Offenbach on Saturday. Coming on at half-time, Boniface transformed Leverkusen’s attack, being directly involved in both second-half goals.

He assisted Jonas Hofmann to give Leverkusen a 2-1 lead and later contributed to Afonso Moreira's goal. Boniface nearly scored himself in the 65th minute but was denied by a block.

This performance follows his brace in Leverkusen's opening pre-season match against Sportfreunde Bamberg, enhancing his prospects under new head coach Carles Martínez. After a challenging loan at Werder Bremen, Boniface appears to be regaining his form, with managing director Simon Rolfes praising his improved physical condition.

Martínez is reportedly keen on Boniface gradually rebuilding his fitness, and his recent displays suggest he is on the right track for a significant role in the 2026/27 season.
