Boniface Leads Bayer Leverkusen to Victory Over Newcastle
In a pre-season friendly held at St James Park on Saturday night, Bayer Leverkusen triumphed over Newcastle United with a score of 2-1. The match began with Bayer Leverkusen taking the lead just one minute in, thanks to a goal from Ibrahim Maza.
However, Newcastle United responded with an equalizer from Malick Thiaw just before halftime. Victor Boniface, who came off the bench to replace Maza in the 80th minute, scored the winning goal for Bayer Leverkusen just two minutes later, securing the victory for his team.
Nathan Tella, another Nigerian international, also participated in the match, substituting for Afonso Moreira ten minutes before the end of the game.
