BPSR DG Advocates AI for Enhanced Government Communication

On Tuesday, Mr. Dasuki Ibrahim-Arabi, the Director-General of the Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPSR), emphasized the importance of artificial intelligence (AI) in government communication at the opening of a five-day Executive Training on Strategic Communication in Kano.

He urged government information officers to embrace AI as a tool for enhancing public communication, transparency, and citizen engagement. The training, organized by BPSR in collaboration with Image Merchants Promotion Limited (IMPR), involved participants from nearly 60 federal ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs).

Ibrahim-Arabi stated that the program aims to equip communicators with skills to effectively convey public policies in a digital age influenced by AI. He highlighted the Bureau's commitment to bridging the gap between government and citizens, promoting access to accurate information, and ensuring transparency under the Freedom of Information Act.

He also noted the evolution of government communication following the National E-Government Master Plan's approval, advocating for responsible use of emerging technologies.
