Akwa Ibom's Victor Attah Airport Launches International Flights

The Victor Attah International Airport in Akwa Ibom State officially began international flight operations, marking a significant milestone for the region. The Federal Government, represented by Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development Festus Keyamo, described the airport as a unique transit hub that facilitates passenger transfers between international and domestic flights.

Governor Umo Eno noted that the airport's infrastructure development could transform Akwa Ibom into a "Dubai of Nigeria." Keyamo acknowledged the economic ripple effects the airport would have on the state and the country. He commended the leadership of previous governors, including Victor Attah and Godswill Akpabio, for their contributions to the airport's development.

The airport is expected to provide services that are not available in other sub-national airports in Nigeria. Keyamo also recognized President Bola Tinubu's timely release of funds to support the project, which is aimed at achieving full international status.
