Wife Accuses Husband of Terrorizing Family with Gun

In Akwa Ibom State, a woman has accused her husband, Edet Georg, of using an illegal firearm to terrorize their family and the wider community. The Akwa Ibom State Police Command, led by spokesperson Timfon John, disclosed that they acted on intelligence reports regarding frequent harassment by Georg.

Following these reports, a search was conducted at Georg's residence in Ikot Akpan Afaha Village, Uyo Local Government Area, resulting in the recovery of a single-barrel gun and eight live cartridges concealed within the premises. The preliminary investigation has commenced to establish the source of the weapon and determine its legality.

The suspect's wife, whose name has been withheld, confirmed that Georg often used the firearm to intimidate and threaten not only her but also their children. The police reiterated their commitment to tackling the proliferation of illegal firearms to ensure public safety.
