Adelabu's Aide Addresses Silence Amid Tinubu's Deadline

Bolaji Tunji, an aide to Bayo Adelabu, responded to inquiries about Adelabu's silence in light of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's resignation deadline for political appointees. The deadline requires appointees to step down by March 31, 2026, ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Tunji emphasized that while Adelabu's approach is principled, it is necessary for him to make his intentions known regarding the governorship ambition in Oyo State. He assured that Adelabu will not disregard the deadline and will demonstrate his commitment to pursuing his governorship aspirations.

Additionally, notable politicians from Oyo State, including Adebayo Shittu, a former Minister of Communications, are also expected to resign as they eye the governorship seat. Shittu currently serves as the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council at the Federal University of Health Sciences in Ebonyi State.
