Political Parties Finalize Campaign Structures Ahead of Elections

Political parties in Nigeria are racing to finalize their campaign structures ahead of the presidential campaign kickoff scheduled for August 19. The All Progressives Congress (APC) is considering Hope Uzodimma and Tanko Al-Makura for the roles of campaign directors for President Bola Tinubu's re-election bid.

Meanwhile, the People's Democratic Party's (PDP) African Democratic Congress (ADC) has settled on Aminu Tambuwal as its frontrunner for the same position. The Labour Party has indicated that its campaign director is in place but has not disclosed the name.

In a separate incident, at least 30 people were killed in a midnight attack on the Naridon community in Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, with five siblings among the deceased. The attack occurred around 11:55 p.m. on a Sunday, highlighting ongoing security challenges in the region.
