Air Peace Faces Flight Disruptions Due to Fuel Shortage

Air Peace attributed recent disruptions to its Abuja-Maiduguri flight service to a shortage of Jet A1 aviation fuel and operational restrictions at Maiduguri airport. The airline issued a statement on X on September 27, 2026, addressing concerns from stranded passengers.

Initially, delays were caused by the unavailability of Jet A1, affecting multiple airlines at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja. Operations resumed once fuel became available, but further restrictions at Maiduguri prevented the service from operating as scheduled.

Air Peace informed passengers of the delays, provided refreshments, and arranged hotel accommodations for those affected by cancellations. The airline plans to operate the cancelled service the following day.

This disruption follows earlier constraints in April 2026, when Air Peace reduced its Abuja-London service due to ongoing Jet A1 supply issues. The situation occurs despite Dangote Petroleum Refinery becoming a significant supplier of aviation fuel to international markets.
