Nigerian Airlines May Raise Fares Due to New $11.5 Levy by NCAA

Nigerian airlines, including Air Peace and Max Air, are expected to raise ticket prices following the introduction of an $11.5 levy by the NCAA effective December 1, 2025. The levy, known as the Advance Passenger Information System (API) charge, aims to enhance national security and streamline passenger data processing.

Certain passenger categories like infants and diplomats will be exempt from the charge. This move has raised concerns about increased travel costs for passengers and added financial burdens on airlines already facing multiple levies and economic challenges.
