Air Peace, a Nigerian airline, experienced operational disruptions nationwide as its lessor, Smartlynx Airlines, abruptly withdrew four aircraft, breaching their contract. The withdrawal led to flight delays and cancellations, impacting passenger convenience.

Air Peace had entered into a wet lease agreement with Smartlynx to ensure continuous service during maintenance abroad. The sudden removal of aircraft caused significant operational gaps and financial losses, with Air Peace disclosing damages of $15 million.

The airline accused Smartlynx of unprofessional conduct and financial harm, affecting not only Air Peace but also Nigerian travelers.
