Akor Adams, Chidera Ejuke Nominated for LaLiga MVP Award

Akor Adams and Chidera Ejuke have been nominated for the LaLiga MVP Award for the 2025-2026 season, as announced by LaLiga in partnership with Sporti. This marks the fifth edition of the award, which aims to celebrate African excellence in Spanish football.

The inaugural award was won by Morocco's Yassin Bounou for the 2021-2022 season, while Nigeria's Samuel Chukwueze claimed the honor for the 2022-2023 season. Adams, who plays for Sevilla, has had a breakthrough campaign, leading his club's scoring chart with seven goals and three assists in 24 appearances.

He joined Sevilla from Montpellier in a mid-season move last year for a fee of £5 million. Ejuke's nomination reflects his growing influence as a Nigerian player in Spain.

They face competition from Villarreal's Pape Guey and Nicolas Pepe, as well as Getafe's Djené Dakonam. Voting for the award is open until May 10, 2026, and the winner will be announced on May 23, 2026.
