Akpabio Supports Anioma State Creation with Asaba Capital

On Wednesday, during the All Progressives Congress (APC) South-South zonal congress in Asaba, Senate President Godswill Akpabio endorsed the long-standing proposal for the creation of Anioma State, which has been championed by lawmaker Ned Nwoko representing Delta North Senatorial District. Akpabio stated that there is "no problem" with the proposal and confirmed that Asaba, the current capital of Delta State, would serve as the capital of the new Anioma State.

He further mentioned that the creation of Anioma State would foster development in the region and expressed that there should be no fear regarding the demand for state creation in the South-South region. Akpabio's support is seen as a significant step towards advancing the proposal, which aims to increase the number of states in the South-East and promote progress in the area.
