Okowa Accuses Nwoko of Plotting Against Anioma State

Ifeanyi Okowa, the former governor of Delta State, criticized Senator Ned Nwoko for allegedly plotting to shift Anioma to the South East and to undermine Asaba's status as the capital of Delta State. During an address to stakeholders in the APC in Oshimili South Local Government Area on Tuesday, Okowa described Nwoko's actions as misguided and unacceptable to the people of Delta North.

He emphasized the demand for the creation of a separate Anioma state within the South-South geopolitical zone, which would include nine local government areas with Asaba as its headquarters. Okowa refuted any claims suggesting that Anioma indigenes oppose the creation of a state within the South-South framework.

He criticized Nwoko's approach to the Anioma state campaign for lacking broad consultation and grassroots input, stressing the importance of inclusive dialogue. Okowa reaffirmed that the pursuit of Anioma state remains a collective effort aligned with constitutional procedures and stakeholder positions.
