Akpabio Commends Tinubu for New University in Akwa Ibom

On Friday, Senator Godswill Akpabio, the President of the Nigerian Senate, commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving the establishment of the Federal University of Agriculture and Technology in Obio Akpa, located in the Oruk Anam Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. Akpabio also expressed gratitude to Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, for facilitating the immediate take-off of academic activities by releasing the Obio Akpa campus of the Akwa Ibom State University.

These remarks were made during the funeral service for the late Imo Akpan Ibokette, former Majority Leader of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, held at the Abak International Nursery/Primary School. Akpabio noted that the new institution would soon admit its pioneer students and recalled Ibokette's support for the university's establishment, describing him as a patriot and a selfless leader who significantly contributed to his community and state.
