Akpabio Remains Silent on New Allegations from Sandra Duru

Senate President Godswill Akpabio has chosen not to comment on fresh allegations made by United States-based activist Sandra Duru, also known as Prof Mgbeke. Duru accused Akpabio of hiring her to fabricate lies against Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, who represents Kogi Central Senatorial District.

This development follows a previous allegation from May 2025, where Duru claimed Natasha offered her ₦200 million to make false accusations against Akpabio, which Natasha denied, calling for an investigation into what she described as a coordinated campaign against her. Duru has now released a nine-minute audio recording that contradicts her earlier statements about Natasha attempting to recruit her.

The recording allegedly features Akpabio discussing political matters related to former Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and Senator Ned Nwoko, claiming Okowa joined the All Progressives Congress due to concerns over corruption rather than sincerity. Akpabio's media aide did not respond to inquiries, and Natasha's camp also declined to comment.
