Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan Challenges Akpabio Over Audio Leak

Federal lawmaker representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, publicly responded to Senate President Godswill Akpabio regarding a leaked audio conversation. On September 21, 2026, she posted on Facebook, accusing Akpabio’s office of supplying materials to media outlets for publication.

In her message, she warned Akpabio that the actions taken against her would have repercussions, stating, “the pits you dig for me, you shall very well fall into.” This reaction followed allegations made by United States-based activist Sandra Duru, known as Prof Mgbeke, who released a nine-minute audio recording on social media. Duru claimed that Akpabio had engaged her to campaign against Akpoti-Uduaghan, which contradicted a previous allegation from 2025 that Akpoti-Uduaghan had attempted to recruit her to make accusations against Akpabio.

The audio recording featured a male voice identified by Duru as Akpabio’s and was presented as a precursor to further disclosures regarding her dealings with him.
