Bayelsa Governor and Pinnick Invited to UEFA Final

Prosper Akp, the Director General of the Prosper Cup, commended UEFA for extending invitations to Bayelsa State Governor Senator Douye Diri and former NFF FIFA Council member Amaju Melvin Pinnick as special guests at the UEFA Champions League Final held in Budapest, Hungary. Akp emphasized that this invitation is a significant recognition of their roles in promoting football in Nigeria.

He noted that there is no constitutional barrier preventing a sitting governor from attending such a prestigious event. Akp highlighted the investments made by Governor Diri in football infrastructure, including two stadiums with capacities of 30,000 and 5,000, and the upcoming inauguration of the Samson Siasia Stadium.

He also mentioned the Prosper Cup, a grassroots football tournament, and the collaboration with the FC Barcelona Academy to enhance youth football in Bayelsa. Akp defended the governor's support for local teams, citing the achievements of Bayelsa Queens and their contributions to national sports.
