Chuba Akpom Joins Ipswich Town Permanently Until 2029

Chuba Akpom will join Ipswich Town on a permanent deal that runs until 2029, effective July 1. This follows his loan spell from Ajax, which was part of a mandatory purchase agreement triggered during the 2025-26 season.

Akpom's transfer comes after Ipswich secured promotion to the English Premier League with a 3-0 victory over QPR in their final game of the season. Throughout the campaign, Akpom made 31 appearances, scoring crucial goals against teams like Hull City and Oxford United.

The 30-year-old forward previously played for Middlesbrough, where he scored 28 goals in 40 Championship games during the 2022-23 season. His experience will be vital as Ipswich aims to re-establish itself in the Premier League after a 22-year absence, despite facing relegation shortly after their last promotion.
