Chuba Akpom Joins Ipswich Town on Permanent Deal

Chuba Akpom, the Nigerian-born striker, is set to join Ipswich Town on a permanent deal that will last until June 2029, following a loan from Ajax. This move comes after Ipswich Town secured promotion to the Premier League, finishing second in the Championship with a decisive 3-0 victory over Queen Park Rangers.

Akpom, who previously played for Middlesbrough, had a notable season, making 30 league appearances and scoring two goals. His contract with Ipswich will officially take effect on July 1, 2025, after an initial loan period.

The deal includes an obligation for Ajax to make the loan permanent for £7 million if certain conditions are met. Akpom's previous season was marked by a prolific performance at Middlesbrough, where he scored 28 goals, but he struggled to replicate that form at Ajax.

Ipswich Town aims to re-establish itself in the Premier League after a 22-year absence, and Akpom will be a crucial player in this endeavor.
