Akume Urges APC Unity in Benue After Primaries Concerns

George Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, addressed concerns regarding the outcomes of the recent governorship primaries in Benue State, which were allegedly marred by irregularities. Speaking to journalists at Makurdi Airport, Akume emphasized the importance of unity within the All Progressives Congress (APC) and urged party members to avoid divisions.

He expressed confidence in the party's ability to uphold fairness and maintain cohesion, stating that the APC should function as a family. Akume also called on residents of Benue State to support President Bola Tinubu in the upcoming presidential primaries scheduled for Saturday.

He reassured the public that the situation would differ from previous elections and urged them to remain calm and participate en masse in the voting process. Akume's remarks reflect a commitment to ensuring a united front within the APC as they prepare for the electoral challenges ahead.
