Akwa Ibom's ARISE Programme Aids Over 833,000 Households

The ARISE Free Food Security Programme has reached 833,481 households across the 31 Local Government Areas in Akwa Ibom State, as reported by Princess Emem Ibanga, the Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs. This announcement was made during a Ministerial Media Briefing at Akpan Isemin Hall, Government House, Uyo, where she presented the ministry’s two-year scorecard since its establishment in 2024.

The programme aims to provide relief to vulnerable residents and enhance systems for identifying beneficiaries. Additionally, the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs has completed and handed over 461 homes to vulnerable families under the ARISE Compassionate Homes Initiative, with each beneficiary receiving a ₦500,000 business grant to aid in livelihood recovery.

The ARISE Elderly Initiative has also supported 12,000 elderly persons, while 1,287 Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) have been enrolled in the ARISE Health Insurance Scheme. The state has received 444 mobility and assistive devices through partnerships with development organizations.
