Akwa Ibom Governor Commissions 5.5km Road Project

On Wednesday, as part of the 39th anniversary celebrations of Akwa Ibom State, Governor Pastor Umo Eno, represented by Deputy Governor Senator Akon Eyakenyi, commissioned a 5.5-kilometre Udo Inwang internal roads and erosion control project in Uyo. This project includes 11 adjoining roads designed to enhance accessibility and tackle longstanding erosion issues while improving connectivity to key areas like the Arise Palm Resort.

Governor Eno emphasized the administration's commitment to infrastructure development across all 31 local government areas and highlighted various empowerment initiatives aimed at improving the livelihoods of residents. He urged communities to protect government infrastructure and warned against dumping refuse in drainage channels, which could exacerbate flooding.

Professor Eno Ibanga, the Commissioner for Works, noted that the project was essential due to severe erosion threatening lives and property in the area. This project marks the ninth initiative commissioned during the anniversary celebrations.
