Al-Makura Backs Ex-IGP Adamu for Nasarawa Governorship

Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, the immediate past governor of Nasarawa State and current chairman of the Universal Basic Education Board, has publicly declared his support for Moham Abubakar Adamu, the former Inspector General of Police, ahead of the APC governorship primaries. This announcement was made during a grand final consultative visit to various traditional rulers' palaces in Lafia, the state capital.

Al-Makura expressed confidence in Adamu's leadership abilities to govern Nasarawa State effectively. He emphasized the importance of royal blessings and support from traditional leaders for a successful campaign.

Al-Makura also acknowledged the endorsement of direct primaries by President Bola Tinubu's administration and expressed gratitude for the party's leadership. Adamu, who hails from the local government area, received encouragement from the Emir of Lafia, Justice Sidi Bage (Rtd), who advised maintaining law and order during the electoral process.

Al-Makura reassured that the campaign would adhere to electoral guidelines and emphasized the need for unity within the party.
