Alaafin Akeem Owoade Refutes Rift Rumors with Makinde

Alaafin Akeem Owoade of Oyo has publicly addressed and debunked rumors regarding a supposed rift with Governor Seyi Makinde and Olubadan Rashidi Ladoja. Speaking from his private residence in Boroboro, Oyo, he asserted that there are no misunderstandings between them and described their relationship as cordial.

He noted that the governor's absence from a recent state function was due to indisposition, not any discord. The Alaafin emphasized mutual respect and understanding, urging the public to disregard unfounded rumors propagated by online bloggers.

He also expressed gratitude to the media for their support and announced preparations for his upcoming birthday on July 18, where he plans to confer chieftaincy titles. Additionally, he highlighted ongoing development efforts in Oyo, including the establishment of a land committee to address disputes and the construction of a civic center valued at N800 million, alongside renovations to the palace to preserve its heritage.
