Algeria and Morocco Qualify for 2027 Women’s World Cup

Algeria and Morocco have secured their places in the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup, which will be held in Brazil, following their successful performances in the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) quarter-finals. Algeria qualified for the World Cup for the first time after coming from behind to defeat Côte d’Ivoire 2-1.

Similarly, Morocco also won by the same scoreline against South Africa. Both teams automatically qualified for the World Cup by reaching the semi-finals of the WAFCON.

The tournament will see two additional African nations qualify for the World Cup, with the remaining quarter-finals yet to be played. Cameroon will face Nigeria, and Malawi will take on Ghana, with the winners of these matches also securing World Cup qualification.
