Benue State Launches IDP Policy for Durable Solutions

Benue State Government launched a State IDP Policy aimed at providing durable solutions for internally displaced persons (IDPs) in the state. The policy, presented by Governor Rev Fr Hyacinth Iormem Alia, signifies a shift towards long-term solutions for those affected by conflicts and disasters in Benue.

The comprehensive framework aims to restore dignity, livelihood, and stability to thousands displaced by insecurity and environmental crises. The policy emphasizes prevention of displacement, protection of the displaced, and promoting safe returns and resettlement.

This initiative marks a significant step in transitioning from relief efforts to sustainable recovery for displaced communities in Benue State.
