Benue State Registers 38 New NGOs to Aid IDPs, Boosting International Cooperation

Benue State has registered 38 new NGOs to address the needs of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs). The Director-General of the Bureau of International Cooperation and Development, Dr.

Aondoaseer Leo Viashima, highlighted the importance of these NGOs in supporting IDPs. The state had previously blacklisted 24 NGOs, but under the current administration, confidence in the system has been restored.

The Bureau is working in line with Governor Hyacinth Alia's agenda and is playing a mediatory role with international organizations like the United Nations and UNICEF. This move is expected to boost internal revenue and enhance cooperation with high-profile organizations in Benue State.
