Governor Alia Celebrates GSS Gboko Basketball Victory

Governor Hyacinth Alia expressed immense joy following the victory of the GSS Gboko female basketball team at the 26th edition of the Nestlé Milo Secondary School Basketball Championship. The team represented Benue State in the national finals held in Lagos, where they maintained a stellar unbeaten record throughout five games, ultimately securing the championship title and bringing home the golden trophy.

Governor Alia closely monitored the team's progress during the competition and dispatched state officials to receive the champions in Abuja, ensuring their welfare and safe passage back to Benue State. He expressed pride in the young athletes and their coaching staff, lauding their dedication to making the state proud.

The governor announced that the government would prepare a special package to reward their excellence and stated that his administration would continue to support sports activities to expose and nurture the abundant talent among the youth in the state.
