Nestlé Nigeria Announces Finalists for Milo Basketball Championship

Nestlé Nigeria Plc has announced the twelve finalists for the Milo School Basketball Championship, which will culminate in a grand final on July 2, 2026, at the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos. This championship has grown significantly since its inception in 1999, now involving 13,000 secondary schools across Nigeria.

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Nestlé Nigeria Plc, Wassim Elhusseini, emphasized the importance of sports as a tool for character development. Boladal Odunlami, the company's Commercial Director, noted that the championship provides young people with opportunities to develop essential life skills such as teamwork and leadership.

The competition has previously produced elite basketball stars representing Nigeria internationally. Mr.

Olabisi Joseph, President of the Nigeria School Sport Federation, commended the championship's impact on local communities and its role in fostering youth development. The group stage fixtures are already underway, with preliminary matches starting on June 27, 2026.
