Sokoto Governor Aliyu Links Development to FG Funding

On Wednesday, Sokoto State Governor Ahmed Aliyu stated that states are receiving increased funding from the Federal Government under President Bola Tinubu’s administration. This announcement was made during the flag-off of a food subsidy initiative in Bodinga Local Government Area, aimed at alleviating economic hardship for vulnerable residents.

Aliyu attributed the successful implementation of developmental projects and palliative measures to the improved funding from the Federal Government. He urged residents to support Tinubu's re-election bid in 2027, commending his economic policies.

Additionally, Aliyu addressed insecurity in the state, highlighting his administration's support for security agencies, including the provision of 62 armoured vehicles, over 200 patrol vehicles, and 2,000 motorcycles. He called for community cooperation in combating insecurity, urging residents to expose informants who assist bandits.

Aliyu concluded by encouraging prayers for an end to insecurity in Sokoto and Nigeria.
