Group Defends Dikko Against Financial Misconduct Allegations

The Integr Youth Alliance has come to the defense of Engr. Ahm Adamu Dikko, the former Managing Director of the Port Harcourt Refining Company (PHRC), in light of allegations made against him regarding financial misconduct.

The group, led by National Coordinator Kelvin Adegbenga, stated that the allegations, which involve claims of economic and financial crimes investigated by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), are more indicative of personal vendetta than genuine investigation. They argue that Dikko is not responsible for payments to contractors involved in the refinery rehabilitation project, emphasizing that the management of funds is under the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL).

The alliance dismissed claims of Dikko making improper cash payments and highlighted that the refinery's rehabilitation project is supported by a $1 billion loan from Afreximbank, aiming to restore the refinery's capacity to 150,000 barrels per day by November 2024. They called for a professional and unbiased investigation by the EFCC.
