Integrity Youth Alliance Defends Dikko Against EFCC Probe

The Integrity Youth Alliance has issued a statement defending Engr. Ahm Adamu Dikko, the former Managing Director of the Port Harcourt Refining Company (PHRC), against allegations of financial misconduct being investigated by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The group, led by National Coordinator Kelvin Adegbenga, claims that the allegations are motivated by personal vendetta rather than legitimate concerns regarding the rehabilitation of the Port Harcourt refinery.

They argue that Dikko is not responsible for contractor payments related to the project, which is managed by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL). The alliance dismissed claims of improper payments and lack of credible evidence supporting the allegations.

They emphasized Dikko's role in reviving Nigeria's refining capacity, with the refinery expected to reach a capacity of 150,000 barrels per day by November 2024. The project is supported by a $1 billion loan from Afreximbank.

The group called for a fair and professional investigation by the EFCC.
